Juniors – Ailish de Luca Ruane
Ailish joined the club 18 months ago and has since made huge progress both on the track and off-road/cross country.
Ailish competed in the U11s 2k xc Charity Cup at Wicksteed Park in November and despite the extreme weather conditions and challenging terrain, ran an amazing time of 8.26. On top of this, she delivered a strong performance in the junior Christmas Race. She always has a ‘can do attitude’ along with great enthusiasm for her running, whilst also being a keen Rugby player!
Seniors – Lucy Jenkinson
After returning to fitness, Lucy has been training well and recently translated this form into some standout performances.
Lucy was the 9th senior woman at the recent Leicestershire & Rutland AA cross country championship in a time of 38:48. In the senior Christmas Race, she was a close second and picked up the accolade of being both the first female home and the fastest female in a time of 14:23. We look forward to watching Lucy progress even further this year.
